The File option is located on the main bar. This menu option allows you to start a new repayment plan, open an existing file, save and delete files, enter or modify client information, or print a client worksheet. When you click on File, a drop-down menu appears with the following options:

File
New Choose this option to erase the creditor information that is currently in memory and start entering a new set of creditor information.
Open... Choose this option to Open a previously saved Zilch Professional File (ZPF). When you click this option a File|Open dialog box appears. Highlight the file you want to open and click the Open button.
Client Information... Choose this option to add or modify the information about your client. When you click this option a dialog box appears that contains information about your client. Enter the information as it should appear on the printed reports. When you are done entering your clients information, click the OK button. (Client Information)
Print Worksheet... Choose this option to print out a client worksheet. The client worksheet provides you with a fast and easy method of entering creditor information. Print several copies of this worksheet and keep them with you. You can conduct business anytime, anywhere by simply collecting the necessary information from your clients. Then take the client worksheets to your computer when it is convient for you.
Save Choose this option to Save your creditor information in a Zilch Professional File (ZPF).
Save As... Choose this option to Save your creditor information using a different file name.
Delete Choose this option to Delete an unwanted Zilch Professional File (ZPF). When you click this option a dialog box appears that lets you select the file you want to delete.
Exit Choose this option to Exit the program and return to windows.

Loans

The Loans option is located on the main bar. When you click on Loans a drop down box appears with the following options:

Preferences

The Preferences option is located on the main bar. This menu option allows you to change the background color, select a currency symbol, choose wether to view client information when printing and modify the report features. Your settings are automatically saved anytime there is a change. When you click on Preferences a drop down box appears with the following choices:

Choose Background

This option allows you to choose one of several predefined background colors or you can choose no background color at all. The default color is Denim. The following predefined background colors are available from the submenu:

  • Denim
  • Mint
  • Slate
  • Coffee
  • Dusk
  • Forest
  • Plum
  • None
Currency Symbol

This option allows you to choose which currency symbol you would like to use. The default currency symbol is $ US Dollar Sign. The following currency symbol choices available from the submenu:

  • $ US Dollar Sign
  • £ Imperial Pound Sign
Always View Client Info on Print

This options lets you determine whether the client information dialog box should appear when you print reports. When this option is checked the client information will always appear just before printing. Clicking this option toggles between on and off.

Report Builder...

This option lets you customize how the printed reports will look. The report builder is a powerful tool that lets you:

  • Choose default or custom shading colors
  • Print your company name and information on reports
  • Choose default or custom graph colors
  • Create a personal message for your clients

Set Interest Rate

This options lets you set the Interest Rate you want to use when calculating the Wealth Building portion of the Financial Profile report.

Help

Help menu screenshot

The Help option is located on the main bar. Use this menu whenever you need assistance, quick answers, or want to learn more about Debt Manager Professional. A drop-down list appears with the following choices:

Help
Online Help

Opens the built-in online help system in your default web browser. You can browse topics, search for specific features, or follow step-by-step instructions to learn how to create and manage client debt-reduction plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Opens a list of common questions and quick answers that other users have found helpful. Use this section to solve common setup, calculation, or printing issues without leaving the program.
